Welfare Officers
Welfare Officers
Our aim is for all our members to feel safe and have a fun and positive experience at Falcon Gymnastics Club.
We promote and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all our members and subscribe to British Gymnastics Child Protection policies and procedures.
Our Welfare Officers are dedicated to making our community inclusive, protected, and safe. They have all attended the British Gymnastics ‘Time to Listen’ course and are fully compliant with all current advice and regulations.
If you have any concerns at all, particularly about child welfare or protection, or wish to raise any issue then please do not hesitate to contact one of our Welfare Officers.
Mel Hale
Business and Welfare DirectorI’m Mel and I have been involved with Falcon since my daughter started gymnastics in 2014. I previously worked in Primary Schools supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities. I was also proud to be a member of the school’s core Mental Health and Wellbeing team.
Having been appointed welfare officer and assisting the club with administration since 2019, I am now Falcon’s Business Manager.
I have a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning and a Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Awareness Diploma (distinction). As well as attending regular Safeguarding and Child Protection training, I have also completed specific Welfare Officer Training.
